My learning and teaching preference is reading/writing. I adjust to students who are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners. I like to use examples to drive concepts home, to make them relevant to my students' lives, and to ground these concepts in reality. Examples include, say, how geometry is used to create movie 3D special effects, or how algebra is used in sound editing in a sound studio. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style focuses on teaching students how to find the big picture. If they understand what it is they are trying to do, then showing them how to get there becomes easier. Any student can learn math, and have the capability to understand numbers, this just comes harder for some and easier for others. In my past I have benefited greatly from some math teachers, and fallen behind in classes where I was not getting what the teacher was talking about. Tutors can be a great help in pushing students over a difficult concept or idea. Then, when the student is back on track, they can take their education in their own hands again.

I really like to teach but only topics I really believe in. I am not a good salesperson for the same reason, if I don't believe in something you can see right through me. I have seen too many adults and kids taught the steps to something, do "A" then do "B" then do "C". This is fine until it is required that we need to do A,B,F or B,A,C. Then this poor person is left with no other angle. I am very creative and resourceful teacher, if I can teach an understanding of what "A" does, why we do "A", and when to do "A", then when A,B,F is needed the person has skills to think their way through it. I am also probably a "pusher" of people learning skills, I believe most people are more capable than they think they are.
