In high school and college, I tutored middle and high school - aged children. I was able to find and help those kids because my parents were teachers; thus, so were their friends who needed tutors. I worked for 16 years as a high school science and math instructor at a small school which necessitated that I teach all the courses in the 9-12 curriculum in rotation. These courses included all levels of mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics. I qualified to teach AP courses and wrote a number of integrated curriculum for my school district. Small successes help to build confidence in order to move on to the subsequent challenges. I have always loved children. Children are precious and all have very unique learning techniques. When I was a senior at Maryville High School, I taught Spanish to first graders.
