My comments on tutoring Reading Comprehension : I have a Masters in Teaching in English which includes extensive experience in Reading instruction for a wide range of readers including students with dyslexia. I have classroom-tested, hands-on reading strategies to engage and encourage reluctant and struggling readers to make sense of the text.

I have taught 6th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. I expect hard work and dedication. I use classroom-tested teaching strategies that include but are not limited to role-play, reader-response, kinesthetic and tactile movement, drawing, and holistic engagement in the "story-world" to help students understand and connect to the literature. I try to use various activities and techniques when teaching to keep students interested. This also helps them (and me) to determine the way(s) that they learn best.
