Learning requires practice, so I emphasize practice to mastery, following Kumon. In tutoring, it is usually the case that the students can learn most of the subject without a tutor, but that each student who has difficulty has a difficulty not shared by most other students, hence not covered in class or homework. For tutoring, I learn what the students can already do well, what they can do with difficulty, and what they can't do yet, and I learn what is limiting their next progress. That is where I focus our efforts. Most of what you can learn in mathematics you can teach yourself by following the teacher's guidance and reading the textbook. Since I graduated with a BS in Environmental Science, I had been a high-school tutor for more than 6 years helping students in the subjects of Math and Science, specifically, Algebra, Geometry, Physics, and Biology. I handled, on the average, 8 students daily - some in groups while others individually. I have learned to understand each student's needs and characters and the approaches in dealing with them. A Little Bit About Me...

I primarily focus on concepts and fundamentals. Most often I try to follow the instructors teaching style so the student can go to the class and does not feel lost. Although sometimes, I try different techniques based on how well the student is doing. I am very patient and I try my best to keep the session interesting and also at times challenging.
