I place a high value on formal education and believe strongly in lifelong learning, for the betterment of the individual and, ultimately, for society. While raising three young children, I obtained my undergraduate degree in business administration. In later acquiring a law degree, I was introduced to the rigorous demands of such study and to the fascinating arena of reasoning and analytical thinking required by this discipline. I’m a 2007 Masters graduate in Communication, concentrating in OD and interpersonal communication. As a paralegal I trained business people about legal topics and legal people about how to do their job. As an instructor for Princeton Review I worked with a world class test prep course. As a sub in Montgomery County MD I was a preferred choice of Reading and Social Studies teachers in the schools I served. I developed the session program for the 2006 Florida Government Technology Conference and observed the distance learning operations at FSU. I strongly believe that the best quality a teacher can have is adaptability. As an instructor I have a responsibility to conform to my students learning styles. I have never met a student of any age who was unintelligent or incapable of reaching their academic goals. If a student is having difficulty in a subject it is the responsibility of the instructor to seek out new approaches of communication and student engagement. The thing I love most about teaching is opening up someones eyes to something new and seeing the "wow" look on their faces. Sometimes certain subject matter is not always easy for a person to learn. I've always appreciated the teacher that went out of their way with a great amount of patience to make sure I understood. I take a lot from the amazing teachers I've had and would hope to be able to pass that on.
I began my higher education at Tallahassee Community College in 1997. After receiving my AA Degree I transferred to F.S.U where I majored in Criminology with a minor in Spanish and graduated in 2003. Since that time, I've worked as a legal assistant/paralegal with different law firms in town. Recently, I decided to return to school and received my certificate in Massage Therapy.
