A Little Bit About Me...

As an undergraduate, I worked with the America Reads Program, mentoring a first grade student with reading difficulties. We met three days a week for an entire school year and progressed through successive lesson plans. I currently work as a mentor and advisor, for Florida State Universities Advising first program. On a daily basis, I interact with first time college students who are undecided on their course of study. We discuss collegiate and career objectives and generate a class schedule that reflects their interests as well as full fills their liberal studies requirements.

The teachers who continue to influence me and affect my day-to-day life are those who had a genuine passion for teaching and a contagious love for their subject. They were the best teachers, not only because they possessed the necessary knowledge, but because they were animated and caring and able to cater to students' needs. A Little Bit About Me...

I began my higher education at Tallahassee Community College in 1997. After receiving my AA Degree I transferred to F.S.U where I majored in Criminology with a minor in Spanish and graduated in 2003. Since that time, I've worked as a legal assistant/paralegal with different law firms in town. Recently, I decided to return to school and received my certificate in Massage Therapy.
The thing I love most about teaching is opening up someones eyes to something new and seeing the "wow" look on their faces. Sometimes certain subject matter is not always easy for a person to learn. I've always appreciated the teacher that went out of their way with a great amount of patience to make sure I understood.
