I work diligently to ensure that I am very versatile when tutoring as I believe students learn differently. It has been my experience that each student has his/her individuals needs and that each learns differently. Thus, I make a conscious effort to sit down privately with each of my students so that we can address his/her concerns effectively and put together a constructive plan to improve his/her skill set. As a tutor with Webster University's student literacy corps, I worked with individuals, pre-K-adult, on reading, literacy, and writing skills. I held this position for two years along with a summer position tutoring Algebra and French with HEC Upward Bound, which service at-risk youth. I have worked with children from preschool-12th grade both professionally and personally. I get along well with children, and try to hone in on a child's personality and how they learn best. (Visual, Learning by doing, Verbal) I also try to see what issues the child is having problems with - that could be not understanding what is required, or not having mastered certain skills that are necesary to build on to obtain the next level of achievement.
