I excelled in both math and English tracks in high school, and when they ran out of math classes I could take, I started on computers. My comments on tutoring Pre-Calculus : Pre-Calculus introduces the idea of limits and Derivatives. Limits will test your ability to interpret graphs along with its continous or discontinous domain. I never really took this course as I jumped straight into calculus but I believe my abilities in Calculus will be of great help in this subject.

I believe my experience falls directly on the amount of effort I have put into the subjects. Coming from another country ad having a lack of communication due to an absence of knowledge of the English language, I have battled my way through school. I have had to put the time and effort into every subject I learned and will not hesitate to share that knowledge with any other student. My experience and abilities are demonstrated really by my efforts and quantity of knowledge of the subjects.
I think the easiest teaching style is to show students how every concept relates. How it relates to other subjects previously learned, why it relates to the real world and why should it relate to school.

I use Socratic questioning strategies and experiential learning to ensure that students understand why a concept applies rather than just memorizing formulas. I use manipulatives and visual aids to ensure that multiple modalities are integrated. I work with the whole student as a person, identifying how the student learns and teaching the student how to adapt various teaching styles to his/her learning style.

Learning goes much deeper than memorizing then eventually forgetting. Learning comes from conceptual understanding of material, building one concept on top of another. I believe that every student has the capacity to learn anything, given they have the basic fundamentals. I prefer to teach using a Socratic method approach, (a means of learning in which the student figures out concepts on their own, with the simple aid of questions). If I do notice a student does not understand a concept in the way I am describing, I try to provide a different means to convey the message. I use various teaching styles that coincide with different learning styles, i.e. tactile, auditory, and visual learning styles, and can use each effectively.
