I love to learn, and love passing that on to others. I am a patient personality, and I may present a problem to a student to evaluate where they are. From there, we can go either backwards or to more advanced work. Education is very important for myself and for my children, and I like to instill that learning takes you further in life than where someone may have not even dreamed. I am amazed at seeing cashiers who can't make simple change, or someone who can't calculate a small percentage in their head, such as 10% of a number. I graduated from the University of South Alabama with a degree in Elementary Education grades K-6. While in school I worked at Sylvan Learning Centers to earn a little extra money. I have taught Kindergarten for 3 years. All of my students were successful.
All children can learn, but in different ways. As a teacher I had to figure out the various ways that my students learned and incorporated that into my lessons. I did a lot of small group teaching and hands on activities. I always did whatever I needed to do in order for my children to be successful.

A Little Bit About Me...

I substituted after graduation and realized I loved teaching. In college I was asked to tutor for my instructors. My classmates came over to my house to study. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ole Miss in 99'. I taught 2nd and 5th grade before going to Falkner to teach Special Ed. in grades 9-12. I helped prepare students for state tests. I co-taught in Eng. and Alg. I also taught MS Studies, W.Geog., U.S. History, Drama, Eng. II, U.S. History, Journalism, Tutorial and ACT prep also. I have experience in math and science as well. I have tutored in Memphis, and have also taught learning strategies. I am retired and eager to find part time work.
