I have a passion to educate young minds and help them blossom into well rounded responsible individuals. I enjoy getting to know students in order to teach them. A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating from high school as valedictorian, I earned a Zoology BS and a Studio Art BA from SUNY Oswego, successfully completing English composition, speech, visual arts, biology, zoology, chemistry, Spanish, and calculus II courses, and graduated with a 3.76 GPA. Prior, I had taken and earned over a 90% in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and AP calculus. While completing an MFA from WCSU, I began 3 years of service as a tutor with NY GEAR UP of The Research Foundation of SUNY, providing academic assistance to students, grades 9-12th in core and non-core subjects, as well as Regents, SAT, and ACT exam prep. I believe that students best learn by being allowed to make mistakes. Instead of providing students with answers, I give them a challenge and guide them to discover the answers. I am patient throughout this process and encouraging as students grapple with new ideas. My goal is to motivate students to want to learn and to see the value in discovery. During any lesson, I try to enhance my students' metacognitive skills by asking them what they learned, or how they will remember new concepts.
