I'm PhD physicist with more than 20 years of tutoring experience at all possible levels and with variety of students ranging from gifted kids of elementary school to PhD students of Wash Uni as well as active tutors themselves.<><><><> I'm really patient (even with my own kids!) and start with putting myself in my student's shoes. There are many arrays of learning styles. I personally use visually, writing, and seeing the bigger picture. First, the mind can develop a concept or help map out the ideas by seeing the picture to the learning task. Second writing helps to reinforce the concept or idea. My goal is to help children in any context that I can. Although I have my sights set on being a pediatric neurologist, my vision encompasses more than this end. For some children, some subjects are hard to understand. Children can get frustrated just by not being able to understand the subject matter. My approach is to alleviate that frustration by going through the steps slowly and demonstrating these steps several times. In addition, I allow students to go through the steps on their own with my assistance so that I can catch any mistakes that they make. I am patient, and I find creative ways for children to learn. For example, I might relate a math concept to some aspect in everyday life. I utilize tools that I learned in school that helped me learn things easier.

I am currently a graduate student at the University of Missouri. I am working on dual masters in economics and statistics and just finished year one of two. I have been a teaching assistant for macroeconomics the past 3 semesters and was head teaching assistant last semester. In the fall I will begin teaching my own sections of business statistics. I have spent the last two years helping students one on one and have also taught exam reviews.
I like teaching students by explaining the material in a way I think is easiest to understand.
