When considering my teaching style, it is difficult to explain a single process for teaching. When working with different people it is important to remain creative, inventive, and patient. Every person has different learning styles and it is important to recognize in that person what helps them understand more fully. Whether it is diagram and pictures, breaking a complex problem into many simple parts, comparing similar examples that are familiar to the person, or simply taking the time to make sure that the child feels comfortable saying "I don't know". All of these are useful tools, but in my opinion by far the most important is patience. Remaining patient when someone doesn't understand is the absolute most important thing. Too many children are willing to give up on a subject, all they need is someone who knows they can do it, and can show them how.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always enjoyed teaching. I love it when students have that moment when they finally get what you have been teaching them. I have taught a wide range of students, from Kindergarten thru 60 year-olds returning to college.
