I am enrolled in the masters program at western kentucky university. Looking to pursue my masters in Arts Adult Education I currently substitute teach for the City of Bowling Green, KY I have been a columist for an interenet magazine I also have experience in being an editor for a company newsletter I love mentoring and teaching to not only children but adults. Everyone has the ability to learn. As a teacher you have to discern the different learning styles from the students and encourage them to apply their individual learning styles to the tasks at hand. The key to being a good teacher is being patient. I believe children learn best in a positive and stress-free environment. When a child does good on the work then I praise them and if they make a mistake then I explain to them the error in the homework. When I was a small child, I remember my teacher being patient and helping me along the way. I feel that although children learn in different ways and different paces that being patient with children is a universal and effective teaching style. I enjoy the German language very much and love explaining how it works to students. Though students learn in different ways, practicing both written and conversational German is imperative to be successful in mastering the language. As a student of German at Bellarmine University, I was able to learn the German language through immersion experiences in Austria and Germany. I also studied German grammar and literature in depth through classes at Bellarmine. I was a tutor in the Academic Resource Center for two years as I was completing my degree and continued to work with students for a year after my graduation.

I use the scientific method of teaching. My style is Socratic. I believe, as Rene Descartes did before me, that human knowledge is innate, including our ability to learn and use language. I teach children to learn by given them the tools they need to think logically and abstractly. Life is dynamic, what happens today, will likely change tomorrow. I believe that children need to understand that there are consequences for their actions. The scientific method is a great way of learning cause and effect. Few of us are fortunate enough to learn from others talking. Most of us learn by doing. That is my method. I have a very diverse background range from English to science.
