Experience Summary
I am currently a Senior at Western Kentucky University majoring in Creative Advertising with a minor in Computer Information Systems. I have several years experience in tutoring children and I am a strong believer in education. I am currently a Child Program Facilitator at the Boys & Girls Club where I read to children and help with their homework. I also have volunteer expereince as a Arts and Crafts Teacher and a volunteer reader for Louisville, KY's every1read programs. I graduated at Atherton High School with honors and I consider myself a results-driven achiever with exemplary planning and organizational skills along with a high degree of detail orientation.
Teaching Style
The key to being a good teacher is being patient. I believe children learn best in a positive and stress-free environment. When a child does good on the work then I praise them and if they make a mistake then I explain to them the error in the homework. When I was a small child, I remember my teacher being patient and helping me along the way. I feel that although children learn in different ways and different paces that being patient with children is a universal and effective teaching style.
