I would let the student try to work the problem and explain what he or she knows. Then I would explain how the correct answer is arrived at and review with the student. I would then select another similar question to see if the student can apply what we just discussed. As a Senior in college, I worked the help room for students taking the first year accounting class. I spent my time answering questions and helping people work study questions.
