Experience Summary

I stated my career as a 7th and 8th grade math teacher in Oberlin Ohio. I taught two years at Beachwood High School, teaching algebra, geometry, physics and calculus. I went back to school to receive my masters in accounting. I work for a large public accounting firm and received by CPA license. From public accounting I started my internal audit career. I consulted many different companies in a variety of industries. I became a Certified Internal Auditor and became president of the local chapter. As an auditor I trained staff and also trained auditees in accounting matters. I learned how to solve problems and develop my common sense approach in developing solutions. After my internal audit career, I returned to teaching at Miami-Jacobs Career College and American National University. At the college I have taught math foundations, college math, college algebra, accounting I, computerized accounting, payroll accounting and customer service. Most of the students are older and have not experience math or accounting since high school. This experience has helped me see how different approaches work with different students.

Teaching Style

I want my students to be able to make sense out of concepts. Once they relate to the topic the fundimentals of working with the concepts is more realistic. I general guide the student to help them develope the concepts.
