Musical is one of my top subjects! I have been involved with learning and playing music for 25 years and have several years of theory training. I understand how music is put together and would love to share my knowledge with you.

I started playing music in 5th grade with the clarinet and school band. I graduated 1st chair in high school band and was playing the guitar in jazz band. I've been playing the guitar for the last 20 years and played in my far share of bands. I graduated from the Madison Media Institute in 1998 with a diploma in sound engineering. I have for children and spent several years when they were young home schooling them.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have served as an instrumental music educator under contract for three years; I have been a substitute teacher in public schools for fifteen years. I have taught all grade levels. I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers as a graduate student. I have tutuored many students primarily on musical instruments.
I love teaching and working with all children. Every child is different in their personalities. I am patient, easy going and considerate. My goal is to provide the best education possible. In addition to my music skills, I also have studied accounting at the local community college, and earned an accounting certificate. A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching children and being able to see them learn. It is awesome to see and hear when they finally "get it" or when they understand something that I taught them. Moreover, when a student gives you an answer to a question and uses an example of something that you taught them earlier, it really shows you how quickly they can pick things up. My teaching "style" is very open--I will have an outline and while I am presenting I will sometimes ask for examples from the students to help get us through the outline together. You can't speak AT them; you have to involve the students in what you are teaching them.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have sons ages 17 and 20, and continually took an active role in fostering their education. From the time they first set foot in kindergarten, through high school, I regularly volunteered, supporting their and the schools’ needs. I assisted in the classroom, chaperoned field trips, dances, etc., planned and participated at parties, special events and any role that could make a small difference.
