Currently completing a double major (english/psychology) at the University level. I graduated in the top 10% of my high school class with Honors/AP credit. I have been a strong student all through out my educational career with a passion for learning and teaching others. I have previous experience tutoring in both English, ESL, and Math, working with students K-12 and some college level. I prefer to let my tutoring sessions to be student led. What that means is that rather than treating the sessions like a teacher-student interaction, I let the student take responsibility for the work they want to improve. I try to employ "active learning" with call and response lecturing. I also encourage students to identify how they learn, by noting their own strengths such as linear or circular thinking. I also help them identify how they learn the best and encourage research, research, research as well as using games and multiple approaches to difficult concepts.
