Dyslexia is one of my top subjects! I am a Wilson Certified reading teacher and have been teaching dyslexic students how to read for 9 years. I ran a program in Massachusetts in the public school setting for students with dyslexia.

I have formally taught and tutors for 12 years. I believe I have been most successful because of the rapport I build with students. I hold high expectations and believe in them! Below is a summary of my experience: -special educator in a public school setting for 12 years. -taught 9th grade for two years, 3-5th grade for seven years and 6th grade for four years. -I have taught students with a wide range of abilities in the mainstream setting and in separate settings. For the last 3 years I ran a program in grade for students with language based learning disabilities including dyslexia. I was their language arts and reading teacher as well as their learning center teacher. -my expertise is reading including decoding, comprehension, fluency and vocabulary, but I am also very experienced in teaching writing and math.

A Little Bit About Me...

I can tutor any level math through college, physics, Spanish, English, ESL, earth and physical science. I can also tutor MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Photoshop, QuickBooks, etc. I am high school certified in Advanced & Intermediate Math, English, and Spanish K-12 as well as earth and physical science and ELL/ESL. I am currently teaching high school math and physics. I have 2 MS degrees in math and geophysics. I have an Associate in Spanish. I taught Calculus I and II at TU for 4 years. For 10 years, I was self-employed as a PC computer consultant.
Every student has a unique combination of learning styles, but he or she also has a predominant one such as visual learner, kinesthetic learner, etc. I try to figure out which style or styles the student responds to and use those styles to get through to the student.
