A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching and do my best to make learning fun and easy for my pupils. I approach lessons by letting the student realize how and why the lesson is important and how it relates to their lives. I firmly believe everyone can learn; the style in which they learn may differ from others, but given the correct approach, all teachers/tutors can be successful.
With my Bachelor's degree, I began tutoring through Reading Success and conducted private tutoring of Georgia History. I progressed to teaching English, Spanish, and some Special Education Resource classes at the High School level, and continued to teach lower level English classes at a local college along with reading in an Adult Continuing Education program through another college. My writing skills have been sharpened as I edited and wrote articles for newsletters, newspaper releases, and in an administrative capacity.

A Little Bit About Me...

I taught for ten semesters at Purdue University while working on my Ph.D. I was responsible for all aspects of the classes that I taught, including class preparation and syllabus design. My experience there also gave me excellent training in English pedagogy. I have also taught as an adjunct instructor in the English department of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Currently I am an assistant professor of English at the University of South Carolina-Aiken. I spent the next year earning a Master of Science in Medical Physics degree from the same institution and I am currently a medical student at the Medical College of Georgia.
