My comments on tutoring Social Studies : History major in college

I began teaching at eighteen. I’d just graduated high school and wasn’t ready for college, so I worked as a personal trainer at a gym within jogging distance of my house. I worked with clients one-on-one helping structure their workouts to their needs, and while I may be stretching it to equate teaching with providing pointers on proper form or advising on ways to augment a stagnant routine, but I think that gap year spent in the gym was when my proclivity for teaching first became incipient. I love learning to be a student and to teach.

My style is more formal with the beginning students who need a lot of structure and have to do repetitive exercises to beging the process of learning English as a second language. Overall, as the students advance in their knowledge I have them leave the classroom and interview teachers or other people and then they are videotaped and they can write their own material. So the teaching style is more fluid then at the beginning.
I have taught in both high school the last 7 years and college for 2 years teaching reading and writing. I have taught English in the summers 2007-2010 to International Students. I have taught reading, writing, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary. I have done prep for the HSPA prior to the test. My comments on tutoring Social Studies : Social Studies is such an important topic for students today. I have found that with social studies, there are so many fun and interesting ways to tutor this subject. Each one of my students will receive this treatment and will have a fun experience.

I have a very Hands-On Teaching Style
I have been working with children for the past seven years. Four of those years have included homeschooling pre-school and pre-kindergarten as well as homework help and tutoring the children that I was babysitting. I love tutoring because it allows me to work one-on-one with my students. Tutoring, also, allows me the opportunity to create the ultimate tutoring experience based off of the students learning style and interest. The students that I conducted homework help and tutoring with were within grades 2nd through 6th. I conducted my Student Teaching in a first grade classroom and loved every minute of it.
