My preferred style of teaching is th Student-Centered- Approach I am a retired educator who still has a passion for working with young people. I love using my knowledge and skills to assist young people in building self esteem and maximizing their learning potential. My career in Education covers a 31 year span. During this time II taught English, reading, literature, composition, and speech. Additionally I have worked as a school psychologist, and career technical counselor. I have been working with special needs students with various disabilities for 10 years. I have worked with students ranging from ADHD/ADD to those who are bed ridded and need toileting assistance. I have also had to accommodate with feeding and those who are transitioning out of high school. I can teach students how to read and write and how to ride the city but to where they need to go and make it back home. I have also taught cooking and hygiene skills. I am patient, go at the students level, and believe in the use various types of visual aids and hands on to keep my students engaged.
