I am a Special Education teacher of thirty years. I have certifications in Learning Disabilities as well as an English certification for the Middle school level. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very motivating person and tend to use humor as a method of teaching. I teach to and with the child and never down to him/her. I break large components into their simplest forms so that a child learns to take things one step at a time and not feel overwhelmed. I make the learning relevant to what the child is interested in or knows about so that he/she can be more engaged in the learning process. We set the goal-a reasonable one yet with high expectations and together we achieve it.
For the past ten years, I have been teaching High School English. I have taught grades 9-12 in Literature, Composition and Standards of Learning in preparation for the state exams. I have taught inclusion classes involving students with numerous learning styles and have always met and exceeded the expectations of their parents.

My teaching style consists of incorporating all learning styles of most people in order to achieve the highest level of comprehension in course subjects. I believe that most students gain the best understanding when they are required to use their auditory skills, while visualizing the information, and writing the information for the practice of kinesthetic learning.
