A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned a Bachelor degree from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I have completed my elementary and high school completely in french as french is my first language. I have been tutoring on and off for the past 18 years and love the one-on-one interaction with the students. I am also very flexible with my schedule.
I enjoy working with teenagers (I have three at home) and try to establish a pleasant learning atmosphere. On the first meeting, we review grades, strengths and weaknesses in the subject. I help the student establish a main goal and discuss the steps to be taken to achieve this goal. I encourage my students to be in charge of their own success by doing extra work during the week and I support them in establishing stronger organisational skills. I can honestly say that I always have had great results using this approach.

I have taught French for over 3 yrs. During that time I would like to think that I made a difference in some students' lives. I started the French Club, French Honor Society, and the Big Bro/Sis-Lil Bro/Sis program. During my years teaching I taught many different levels of French from levels 1 through 4/5.
I try to inspire my students with real life stories about France. Having spent several years there, I have had many cultural experiences that I bring into the classroom. Students enjoy hearing stories that they can relate to. It helps them appreciate the language and culture when they feel that they can identify with it from stories as opposed to reading a textbook.
