I have earned a Bachelor degree from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I have completed my elementary and high school completely in french as french is my first language. I have been tutoring on and off for the past 18 years and love the one-on-one interaction with the students. I am also very flexible with my schedule.
I enjoy working with teenagers (I have three at home) and try to establish a pleasant learning atmosphere. On the first meeting, we review grades, strengths and weaknesses in the subject. I help the student establish a main goal and discuss the steps to be taken to achieve this goal. I use different methods of teaching to work best with the student. IE if the student is a visual learner, I like to write things out. My preferred style is similar to the classroom. I write the topic and rules down while repeating it all out-loud and giving the student some examples. I also encourage them to tell me what they know and then I add to that with more rules and examples or correcting any confusion that may be holding them back in the classroom.
