Hands-On Learning

I love to interact with children. I believe that children should be involved with their school work. Hands on work and visual interactions help when certain curriculums don't sink in. Involving children to learn, beyond taking notes, helps them understand difficult subject and also helps them retain them better to memory.
I'm currently enrolled in Kaplan University pursuing my certification to become a Registered Dental Assistant with Extended Functions. I have completed High School and obtained my Diploma in 2014. I am currently tutoring a middle school student (8th grade) in all given subjects. I range from simple homework help to comprehension of certain subjects.

More About This Tutor...

During my time in college, I switched to become an educator as I discovered a passion to see the lives of children transformed. During my process of gaining my BS in Physical Education, I worked with many after school programs and taught both elementary and high school during my student teaching. Since college, I have taught and worked with children and youth around the world and currently volunteer in my local community, heading up an after school program that focuses on tutoring K-8th grade.
My greatest strength lies with my patience with children and flexibility to see what style of learning enables the child to best master the subject. I desire to lead children in finding the answer which will not only teach them the subject they are learning, but will enable them to reason and find the answers in other classes as well. It is simple to teach a child to memorize but to teach ... read more

I love kids. But more than that, I want to help kids who are in need of extra help and academic attention. I want to inspire as well encourage kids that they can do anything, as long as they believe in themselves. Like I said before, I once was a special Ed student, and because of that I want to encourage those who are struggling with school that they can and will find victory. As a future teacher, one thing that I am going to implement in my students learning process is visual aid. Also I believe setting realistic goals for each individual student to achieve.
I have always had a heart for helping those who are in need of some extra help. Being a kid who struggled in school, I know what it's like to feel like to have low sell-esteem about school, having the feelings like I am not smart enough or good enough. As a future graduate at Fresno Pacific, I want to inspire kids to ... read more

I derive a great sense of satisfaction from helping another person “get it”. I firmly believe all people are capable of achieving their full potential if provided with enrichment and a supportive environment. I tailor my tutoring to each unique learning style, and use the Socratic method of question and answer to help the student attain their answers on their own. A great tutor enables the student to build excellent study habits and spark a curiosity for learning that will last for life. I consistently try my best to surpass these expectations for myself.
As a student and professional tutor, I have always believed education and enrichment are crucial to the advancement of the individual and society.
