I have studied Spanish since 2001. I participated in an ISA Study Abroad program in Sevilla, Spain. I have worked for the past 7 years with native Spanish speakers as well as tutoring both middle school, high school, and college level students in Spanish. I have studied mostly with Spanish from central and South America, but am familiar with Spanish from Spain as well, which includes the use of vosotros. Moderate proficiency in Spanish. This is my 3rd language. The process is just as important as the product. If a student can come up with the correct answer, but he or she has no idea how or why it is correct or how they got it, I feel like their learning is incomplete. Especially in Math, but also in many other subjects, concepts build upon each other. For this reason, I like to explain not just *how* to get there, but also *why* we got that answer; then students have a firmer foundation for the trickier concepts.
