At the University Center for Developmental Disabilities I have gained one-on-one experience with children with autism and have learned and employed several techniques used in the Operant Conditioning model. As a Teacher Assistant, I have the responsibilities of setting goals, creating objectives for weekly sessions, and tracking and recording weekly progress. I love working with youth but especially young children because they are, in my view, easier to work with. I understand that every child is different and some will be oral learners, visual learners, etc. Every one has a method of learning that works for them and I am more than willing to adapt and adjust to each individual child.
