My style is age-appropriate: I modify my approach to accommodate age, learning level, personality and a combination of abilities and interests. My philosophy is that it is the instructor that should make adjustments on behalf of the student, not the other was around. Understanding the subject is understanding the student

I have experience with children from my 1 year working at Main Event Entertainment, my 4 months at PuttPutt Fun House, and my current volunteer work teaching Sunday school at my religious Hindu temple. My comments on tutoring Basic Learning Skills : I am experienced in teaching all elmentary subjects and I know what it takes to help a student grasp the material and relate to it all.

First, I like to determine a student's learning styles. Not all student learn the same. There are visual learners who learn by looking and writing. There are tactile learners who learn by doing and moving around (hands-on activities), then there are auditory learners who learn from hearing the information. I accommodate all styles int he classroom, but when tutoring, I assess the child by doing a learning style inventory which allows me to determine what style that particular child has. For visual learners, we use the basic paper and pencils, they watch me work. I model problem solving for them and then monitor them. For tactile learners, we pull out materials we can use our hands to work s with. My teaching style conforms to the learning style of the individual. Since no two people learn the same it is impossible to tutor the same way.
