A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is flexible. Students learn in different ways and at different paces. It is my job to discover how the students learn and what they respond best to. For some subjects, repetition is very important and for others a clearer understanding of the concepts involved is more valuable. I like to start with small skills and build on them.
I have taught two years of middle school and home schooled my daughter. I have worked as a substitute teacher on and off for several years. My emphasis in college was English and Math so I feel very comfortable teaching either of these subjects as well as reading.

A Little Bit About Me...

Because I was overlooked it gave me the desire to help those that seemed mostlikely to not succeed. I earned a bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education while working full time and being a full time mom. I went on to earn my Masters in Education and Psychology/Counseling. For the past 15 years I have taught in Public schools as well as Private schools. In addition, I have taught at a local Technical College. For the past year I have tutored students in grades 6-9.
I enjoy teaching, it is part of what I was born to do. I enjoy teaching children and adults. I have always believed that all people can learn but at different levels and in different styles and the teacher just has to discover the "hook" that helps the student best in succeeding. I believe that it takes mor ... read more
