I have a bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education which gave me the knowledge to lead students in succeeding in the classroom. I also have a Masters inn Education with a concentration in Psychology and Counseling. With this degree, I learned how to counsel children in different areas in thier lives. My teaching style is flexible. Students learn in different ways and at different paces. It is my job to discover how the students learn and what they respond best to. For some subjects, repetition is very important and for others a clearer understanding of the concepts involved is more valuable. I like to start with small skills and build on them.
I have taught two years of middle school and home schooled my daughter. I have worked as a substitute teacher on and off for several years. My emphasis in college was English and Math so I feel very comfortable teaching either of these subjects as well as reading.

A Little Bit About Me...

Graduating from Fort Valley State University with two degrees in education gave me a sense of direction. I have a sincere desire to help improve the future of our nation's children. I began volunteering in a literacy program that sought to help children and adult improve their reading comprehension skills. The volunteers read to the children or allow the children to read to them, review stories with them, and ask them questions pertaining to the stories.
