A Little Bit About Me...

I started out as a French Trainee at “Chinmaya International Residential School”, Coimbatore, immediately after I had completed my B.A. I had worked at the school for one Academic year (2004 -2005). I was teaching French as a Second Language for classes 5th to 8th. At Accent Français, Pondicherry, I had been a part time French language facilitator where I had to facilitate language learning for people of heterogeneous age groups with various needs. I had also rendered my services as a translator on a necessity basis at the institute. After completing my Masters, I was employed with Swiss re as “Analyst Accounts Processing”, where I handled a portfolio of French Clients & do accounting & which happens to my last position.

During my training at INSE (Institut National des Sciences de l'Education), University of Lome, I had a two-academic year classroom teaching performance inturnship at Agbalepedo Public High school. Then, from September 1998 to February 2005, I taught French and English at ISTT (Institut des Sciences et Techniques du Tertiaire), a private high school in Sokode. I kept an excellent record of teaching performance till 2005 when I moved to the States.
I am a student-centered educator and I was known among my students as someone who was more than just an instructor because I took the progress of my students in class as my personal problem and took exceptional measures such as working beyond time and relentlessly motivating them to overcome their difficulties. I believe that proficient language knowledge and use is crucial to a person’s career development and every-day communication skills. I enjoy helping students see progress toward their individual goals while at the same time making learning an exciting challenge and experience. I believe one-on-one tutoring can be the most productive and effective way to learn subject matter in a timely manner.
Since receiving my bachelor’s degree in 2007, I have been involved in teaching students of all ages and backgrounds. I hold a certificate for teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) and am currently teaching in the Adult Education Program of our local community college. I also have done English tutoring for college students who wish to improve their English skills. A Little Bit About Me...

I don't believe in giving a student the answers to their questions. Rather, I think it is important to help them find the answers themselves--understanding the process will enable them to perform on their own. For example, rather than editing a student's paper, I will go through it line by line and have them help me find the errors.
I have a very strong background in writing. My experience includes my graduate research and thesis, news writing for a tv station, in addition to 6 years of writing for academia. I spent a semester in Pau, France and can tutor beginning to intermediate level students. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA in high school, college and graduate school.
