Education and a desire to help others learn has always been a strong emphasis in my life. I earned a BS in Philosophy and Religion which has enabled me to comprehend students and the way people think. I also graduated with a pre-medical emphasis. As I worked through the science requirements for pre-med, I fine tuned my problem solving skills which has enabled me to help students who are struggling in these areas. During the past four years I have tutored students in algebra, physics, chemistry, Spanish (I speak fluent Spanish), and biology. I love seeing people succeed in something they have struggled with. I realize that learning reading and writing skills can be difficult. When I teach young people, I work to push each person patiently but constantly to improve with each lesson. Each person learns a little differently, and I like to learn the student’s strengths and weaknesses and work from there. I support hands-on learning. There is only so much a person can talk about writing. The best way to learn writing is to write. The best way to improve reading comprehension is to read. Reading unlocks vocabulary. Over the last 4-6 years I've had to teach coworkers the intricacies of engine technology (basic hydrocarbon breakdown and nitrogen depleting systems) to basic geometry and electrical circuits ( from creating concentric bends in pipe to large scale automated systems).
