I taught in private schools in California for 15 years ( 1980-1994). I started as a teacher, then became a Media Specialist, then a Vice Principal and finally a principal. I moved to Indiana in 1994, where I taught in public school for 3 years. We moved back to California in 2000. Since that time I have served as a Library Media Specialist and Reading Teacher. Presently I teach reading fundamentals to small groups of students from 2nd through 6th grades.Additionally, I am a writer, and have published numerous stories and articles, and one full length book of fiction.

I started teaching Sunday School when I was in Junior High. I taught a little boy in my class how to read and it was the most rewarding experience I have ever encountered. As aforementioned, throughout high school, I began tutoring students in Math, English, Spanish, Science, and History. I tutored one 6th grade student who was ADHD. He had several tutors before me, but none had the patience to work with him. I started tutoring him and fell in love with this particular child. It was hard at first because everything distracted him, but I tried different approaches until he finally began to understand the material.
