I have worked with many groups of children from grades k-12. My main focus is working with elementary students. Most of my experience is working with grades k-6. My number one field is math. I'm more concerned in helping students with math because this is usually the field were most students are having trouble. My comments on tutoring Spanish : Spanish was my first language, which then later for High School it was necessary to take two years. I knew the principal and the basics which eased to my ability.

I've know sign Language since the 4th grade, but as in right now I am a senior in High School taking college classes in American Sign Language, which it will lead to my career to becoming an Interpreter. My Major will be Communication Disorders.Within my High School years I have completed two years of Spanish. I am Fluent in English and Spanish because Spanish was my first language.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been an educator for over 10 years. I have taught elementary for 5 years, high school for 2 years, tutored for 3 years and am currently working as a substitute teacher/tutor. During this time I have taught English, Science, Reading , Language Arts, History, Greek, Hebrew, Spanish, and Math. I believe in using the differentiated approach to teaching--based upon the seven intelligences. I plan for all lessons being taught, and state the objectives on the board for each lesson. I present the lesson, allowing the students to interact and respond by activating prior knowledge, discussing points and inviting them to ask questions. I like to interject related activities at 20-30 minute intervals to keep their interest up. I also like to provide centering and closing activities.

A Little Bit About Me...

I started teaching Sunday School when I was in Junior High. I taught a little boy in my class how to read and it was the most rewarding experience I have ever encountered. As aforementioned, throughout high school, I began tutoring students in Math, English, Spanish, Science, and History. I tutored one 6th grade student who was ADHD. He had several tutors before me, but none had the patience to work with him. I started tutoring him and fell in love with this particular child. As an undergrad, I excelled in the arts, history and social science courses. However, I lacked interest in math (I didn't get it) and failed college algebra two times!
