Teaching is my passion and my life. There is no other career that I would desire to teach. I am a very firm, but fair teacher. My teaching styles vary depending on the lesson being taught. Hands on activities are very important to me, and I will incorportate them into the lesson as often as possible. Technology is also very important to me. As a young adult I always had a passion for teaching. I began tutoring at a young age and then after high school began working towards my teaching certificate in English. As a high school student I participated in peer tutoring. While in high school I volunteered to serve as a tutor in Algebra, Geometry, Chemistry, Zoology, and Biology. I graduated with 27 AP credits which helped me complete a B.S. at Clarke College in 3 years. At Clarke I found that tutoring my peers helped both the student and me. During my high school years I would volunteer to help children through various charities and church. When I attended college I became an Early Childhood Education major and volunteered in preschool and elementary schools. During my Student Teaching in Des Plaines I was in complete control of a Kindergarten classroom and later a 2nd Grade class. I began tutoring lower level Spanish students in high school for several years. Later in college, I volunteered for the America Reads Challenge Program and helped elementary-aged students improve their reading skills.
