I enjoy seeing children discover the world around them in their own ways. Therefore, I teach the importance of working things out until you understand it for yourself. Children will meet and often surpass any goal that is given to them if you show that you believe in them. I use a hands-on approach, as much as possible, with a problem-solving emphasis. I firmly believe that a child remembers things more if he is able to work it out for himself. As a result, I take more of a mentoring position the older the child is. It was in this way that my daughter received both an AA and an AS degree the night she received her high school diploma.

A Little Bit About Me...

I teach hands-on with many demonstrations and hands-on activities. I have been told by some of my past students that I made science fun for them and that science used to be their worst subject, but with me as their teacher they found it to be their favorite subject.
I have been tutoring math and sciences since I have been a senior in college. Most recently I have worked tutoring math and science as a personal tutor in the LA area. I have also taught Biology and Earth sciences at East High School in Salt Lake City, UT for a year, and 2 years at New Community Jewish High School in West Hills, CA teaching anatomy and physiology and Chemistry.

Curry Educational Services in Burbank, California from 1996 – 1998. I provided personal tutoring services for high school students in the Burbank/Glendale area of Los Angeles. Subjects generally included high school math and physics. St. Michael’s High School (SMHS) in Los Angeles, California from 1991 – 1992. For two years as a teacher, I taught five classes (25-35 students) per day in algebra, geometry, advanced math, and physics. Basically, I was the upper math department. I also assisted the coach for the school’s academic decathlon team. SMHS was a Catholic all-girls high school until it was merged with Regina Caeli High School a few years later. SMHS no longer exists as a high school.
