Although, I have never been in charge of my own class room I consider my teaching style energetic. I have always enjoyed playing the piano. And I took extreme satisfaction from teaching piano. I would sit beside them while they played the pieces I had assigned to them to practice since the previous lesson. If they had problems or questions about something, I was there to help. We'd talk and laugh, and I hoped they learned through it all. I believe a supportive environment is critical for an excellent learning experience. First, I work to set up an environment of mutual respect, a place where the student knows I respect him or her and the student respects me. To accomplish this task, I actively engage with the student by showing an interest in the student's life. Essentially, I get to know the student.
