A Little Bit About Me...

I am a hands on teacher and believe in using programs like Jing to share computer screens so that students can see exactly how or where something is and how to accomplish their end goals.
I have an associate degree in Digital Media and a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design. I have recently graduated from my BS program from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a 3.44 GPA. I have spent the last eight years in school working in graphic design. I am familiar with the Adobe family of products. Photoshop is my first love. I am also working on learning Art Rage as well.

I was a Trainer and Communications Specialist in an industrial environment (17 years.) Trainer, U.S. Army Reserve, 2 years. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in political science in 2009. I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I am now working on my Master's in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I worked as an English tutor for international students at the University of Findlay from 2007-2009. I also tutored college students in Spanish in the fall of 2009. I have also tutored elementary school students in English. I studied Spanish in Mexico and Arabic in Jordan. My strongest subjects are Spanish, English (writing, reading, grammar), and social studies (geography and government). I enjoy working one on one with students because it is allows me to give more in depth and detailed instruction to the student based on his or her learning style. I believe in hands on learning and learning by example. All people have the ability to learn and understand any concept; I work to act as a guide from confused to accomplished.
I have always been interested and active in the education field. I enjoy working individually with students, more so than in a classroom setting. I received a Master's degree in Creative Writing and a Bachelor's in English for Secondary Education, with minors in French and Creative Writing. I have been teaching Composition at a Community College and have tutored students for many years, whether in English, basic French or even math (up to and including Algebra).
