I try to incorporate things the students like into the lessons (for example, I used football scoring to explain mathematic concepts to a 10 year old boy). I believe that patience is key to a child's learning experience. When I was in school, I had teachers that were mostly concerned with tearing through the curriculum. Many times there were some left behind in the process who did not firmly grasp the concepts being taught.
