Education has always been a priority in my life. During my four years as an undergraduate student, I created a major that covered a breadth of areas including psychology,biology,chemistry, math,and physics. I also have a passion for English. I have assisted PhD students in research as well as conducted my own research which has honed both my grammatical and analytical skills. Throughout my college career I have tutored students in the sciences, math, French, and English. I am currently in the masters program at UB for high school biology education and currently student teaching. Everyone has a different style of learning. It is always my goal to find out what style best suits the student. Whether they are vsisual learners, or simply need multiple ways of hearing an explanation, I strive to meet the needs of each individual person. I have spent my life working towards degrees that would help me to give my life meaning. I have earned a B.S. and M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology, as well as, a bilingual extension in Spanish. Since I also love healing through nutrition and energy work, I've earned degrees in Health Counseling and Reconnective Healing. As I continue to learn myself, I hope to inspire people to do the same! I am a Substitute Teacher in Williamsville, Grand Island, Niagara Falls. I have spent the last two years tutoring students on and off, while completing my masters in Mathematics Education. I previously taught foreign students through a grant with Buffalo State Research foundation for 2 yrs and it needed patience due to the language barrier we had to work on in addition to the school work. I saw success in this students who made it todifferent colleges when some of them could not speak English when they first got here. I always strived to be the best student I can be. I have a bachelors in business and a master diploma in computer Science. I started but have not continued with my MBA due to lack of funds. I have been lucky to secure jobs that have given me extensive experience as a Financial analyst in different industies including Healthcare.

Through my teaching experience, I have learned the importance of the relationship between the community and maintaining a positive classroom environment. As a student teacher I have had experience keeping parents involved with classroom activities and I believe that parental involvement is an important factor in creating effective teaching and learning for all students. Currently I am student teaching at Buffalo Public School #11, Poplar Street Academy. I lead small groups in the afternoon and use Harcourt Intervention to provide enrichment for struggling readers. I have been successful in pulling two of the five students up to benchmark level. I also developed a positive behavior management system that teaches students responsibility and accountability. My system has reinforced my philosophy of teaching; students learn and work better when a positive environment surrounds them.
