Reading is one of my top subjects! I worked as a teacher in a private school for children with dyslexia. My position was as a Language Fundamentals Teacher and I was trained using the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching. This is a multi-sensory approach and very highly regarded as a successful approach for children with dyslexia and reading disabilities. It includes tutoring for reading, reading comprehension, writing, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and other skills related to English basics. My comments on tutoring Reading : I'm a great speed reader with full comprehension of what I read, but I believe that even those who don't blaze through pages can learn how to pick up important details and their pace by learning how to focus on the material.

I'm a recent college graduate from NC State, with a degree in Creative Writing. However, the CW course instilled in me knowledge in a variety of fields from film to philosophy, and as a requirement of modern education made me more than just fluent in the language of computers. I'm a would-be author, and a writer of short stories, and have won an honorable mention in a few poetry contests. In college I was frequently asked by friends in less liberal majors for help in writing papers and getting ideas across, because while a Biology major dreads the 25 page research paper, the English major just shrugs and says "I just wrote like, three of those yesterday." So I hope now I can help you get better grades or appreciably improve your standards of writing.
