Painting Tutors & Teachers for Lessons, Instruction or Help in York Harbor, ME

Over the years I have created works of art using nearly every type of paint and painting technique available. My two favorite ways to paint are with watercolors and digitaly through the use of computer programs like adobe photoshop. As an art teacher, I want my students to learn to enjoy the creative process and develop an appreciation art, even if it is not something they readily excel at or are considering for a future career path. Through exploration of the many different forms of art, such as drawing, painting, three-dimensional design, and even computer-aided illustration, it is my goal to help my students break free from the stereotypical notion that art is all about making the most realistic image possible or that there is one right way to create. I have a bachelors degree in Graphic Design from Stonehill College. I have had three internships in the graphic design field. My most recent internship is at Harvard University doing graphic design and marketing work for their athletic department. I have also interned at Stonehill College's Marketing Department as well as the Henson Jackson Art Gallery donig graphic design. My last year of college I tutored for Schools on Wheels in Brockton, MA and I really enjoyed helping kids learn and grow academically.

I have been a gymnastics instructor for about eight years which has helped in shaping my teaching style. I love to push children in a supportive manner so that they can believe in themselves and truly get the most of their education. On top of teaching for the semester in Costa Rica, I also worked for a company called "Mad Science" for almost two years now.
