Experience Summary
I recently graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with two bachelor's degrees. One degree is in Spanish and I consider myself completely fluent, especially having spent a semester in Costa Rica. During this time I volunteered at a school teaching students ages 5 through 18 English at different levels. My other degree is in Social Thought and Political Economy which required a lot of writing, generally 15 to 25 page papers per class. It is a major dedicated to social change and I learned subjects in all areas including History, Current Affairs, Politics and Political Science.
Teaching Style
I have been a gymnastics instructor for about eight years which has helped in shaping my teaching style. I love to push children in a supportive manner so that they can believe in themselves and truly get the most of their education. On top of teaching for the semester in Costa Rica, I also worked for a company called "Mad Science" for almost two years now. I was required to lead classes ages K-5 in an after school science program in which I was the only instructor. I believe I am fun but serious enough to make sure that work gets accomplished and that the students truly learn.
