Most recently, I served as a short and long-term substitute in middle school Read 180 classes for Columbus City Schools. Read 180 is a course that strengthens reading skills. Prior to that, I worked as a tutor at Sylvan Learning Center. I facilitated tutoring sessions for small groups of students who presented various needs. I have, also, had the opportunity to teach at Columbus State Community College. There I had the privilege of providing instruction in three sections of a required English class. The goal for students was to produce a research paper written to persuade its audience. My first full-time teaching job, upon graduating from Ohio State, was as a middle and high school Language Arts teacher at a private school. I worked with students in grades six through nine. In addition, I was the first American Sign Language teacher and got the program underway.

My comments on tutoring Shakespeare : I have read many Shakespeare plays and have done close analyses as well.

I absolutely love performing and any aspect of theatre. I love learning and growing in my theatre knowledge and experiences. I have been performing in some way my whole world and love to share my passion with others. I also love English and Shakespeare; obviously these both go hand in hand with theatre!
I do not have a definitive teaching style. When teaching someone, I usually try to adapt to their learning style, and if they do not have a strategy that works, I help them develop a good learning style and get comfortable with it. I like to think I make learning difficult things more fun and approachable.

Nothing is better than seeing a huge smile on a child's face once they cath on to something. I love helping children learn by doing a lot of visual activities and practicing! I was always the only person who could help my younger sister study for tests because she said my teaching techinique is very helpful and makes her remember things. I believe that the key to any kind of scientific or mathematical learning is repetition. It is first important to get to the heart of the concept, and see what is holding someone back from understanding something.
