My teaching style might be a bit unorthodox but it is something I have acquired from past teachers and tutors. I have not helped or tutored in a while but I believe I have an easy and simple approach to it. When it comes to physics and chemistry, the math can be learned over night, the concepts are most critical. You can't read a problem and interpret the question word for word. You have to find a way to relate it to real life and what you see everyday. A spinning disk becomes a truck tire, a sound device becomes a sub woofer. Things that you can relate to.

I was a Teaching Assistant for one semester of Physical Chemistry at the University of Utah. This is literally the most difficult course in the Chemistry department for undergraduates. I was responsible for 6X 1 hour sessions per week over the course of a semester. I also would handle questions outside of class.

During the spring of 2007 I tutored a college senior in Business Calculus. We would meet at a local bagel shop and go over homework problems he was having difficulty with. If these misunderstanding appeared to run deeper than the specified problem, I would help him understand the concept as a whole. I also tutored first through fifth grade students at a local elementary school in an after school program. These students were at risk for not passing their grade, so I would work to help them understand not only how to do their homework, but also the importance.
