I completed my bachelors of science in biology from Mesa State College, after which I went on to receive my masters degree in evolutionary biology from The University of Texas at Arlington. I then pursued a Ph.D from Brigham Young University. Although I completed all my coursework and my comprehensive exams and was approximately 80% done with my dissertation, I opted to leave the program to pursue my passion of teaching. I absolutely love working with kids and teens. I believe that all children want to experience success, but each might define "success" a little bit differently. I am willing to take the time to find out what motivates each individual student and go the extra mile to help them. I am a firm believer in experiential education and try to relate what a student is learning in class to something they love, engaging and involving them in the process as much as possible. As a Weber State graduate, I majored in Zoology and minored in Chemistry. Even though science has always been a passion of mine, I am very knowledgeable in math. During my undergraduate studies, I have gained even more experience and improved on my grammatical skills. I had the opportunity to be an Anatomy lab instructor for three semesters.
