Experienced violin instructor for students ages 3 - adult!

April began playing the violin at the age of three and piano at the age of nine. She holds a bachelor's degree from Wake Forest University in violin performance and is also a proficient pianist. While at Wake Forest, April was concertmaster of the university symphony and has also performed with the Western Piedmont Symphony, Salisbury Symphony, and Winston-Salem Symphony. April recently completed her master's degree at Appalachian State University. April performs in wedding ceremonies, receptions, and events with Deans' Duets.
Suzuki method Traditional method Methods include note reading and playing by ear. Optional services include learning improv, hymn-playing, & fiddle music.

I am a certified Pre-K through 6th grade teacher. I have had experience tutoring second, third, and fourth grade students throughout my college/post-graduation years. I taught third grade last year, and did my student teaching in kindergarten and first grade classrooms two years ago.
I love teaching reading, writing, and math in particular. I work hard to help my students enjoy these things as well, and to be successful in them. I believe that motivation is extremely important in learning. I try to be creative in my lesson planning, and enthusiastic about what I am teaching in order to motivate and encourage students to learn.
