Calculus I is one of my top subjects!

I have excelled in mathematics going all the way back to elementary school. Studied general mathematics in college. Have tutored at least 20 students on a variety of subjects in math, outside of school involvement. Worked in the math tutor lab at CSU during enrollment. I have tutored students in middle school and below on general subjects also (i.e science, social studies, english, etc).
I am a huge advocate of learning 'why' something happens vs 'how' it happens. In mathematics, anyone can learn a formula, an expression, or an equation if they look at it enough times, but they would not know how to apply it in real life situations. However, if a students learns the application of the formula and how it works, bigger chances they will remember it or can derive it when recalling the information. Learning the 'why' WILL lead to learning the 'how'

I have always had a passion for students, Math and teaching. I have been tutoring since I was in high school. My tutoring skills range from elementary to college. During my student teaching experience, I had the opportunity to work on a team with special education students. I had a chance to use my creativity in creating lessons that would reach each student.
