I am a very motivating teacher. I encourage my students to strive to do their best with the philosophy that they will be amazed at what they can accomplish. I try to get my students excited about the maaterial by incorporating fun stories, experiments, videos, or examples into the material. I am very patient and believe that repitition is a key to learning. I have enjoyed working closely with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities as a Writing Consultant, ESL tutor, and Teaching Assistant. I've had the pleasure of working with students who were puzzling over the minutiae of how to properly format a senior thesis to APA format and nervous freshman approaching their first English paper with trepidation. I am a firm believer that the job of a tutor is to work with the student, not with their texts or problems.
